Last weekend I was feeling rather anchored, creatively speaking. I couldn’t love what I do more; photography has been a significant passion of mine for 14 years now. But, as is the true nature of any passion, I was craving a creative outlet, a way for me to execute an original idea from start to finish.
I have met hundreds of people over the years and, luckily, I maintain a relationship with a handful of them with whom I’m comfortable reaching out about my “crazy ideas.” Rachel is one of them.
Rachel is bold, beautiful, relatable, and amazing to work with. She respects others as much as herself and is an amazing mom who ensures time for herself. When I messaged her with, “Hey! What are you doing tomorrow?!” she didn’t hesitate to jump on board with my vision.
My idea included my empowering model (Rachel, of course) and usage of this ^ mural in Downtown Brunswick painted by the brilliant Bongang. The awakening of Downtown Brunswick has been such a grassroots movement for so long that it has been easy for me to miss the beautiful changes that are occurring on a regular basis. This wall was one of them until recently. As I am always looking for a fresh atmosphere in this heavily-photographed destination location, I couldn’t have been more pleased with the outcome of these photos.
I hope they are as much of a breath of fresh air for you as they were for me!
